Carol Rae Klug, 66, of Burwell, Nebraska

Carol Rae Klug, 66, of Burwell, Nebraska died June 29, 2014 at the Valley County Health System Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Burwell Baptist Church. Pastor Alan Petersen and James Lowery will officiate.

Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Rosebud Cemetery in Bonesteel, South Dakota. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell.

Memorials are suggested to the family or the Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation.

Carol was born October 17, 1947 in Gregory, South Dakota to Vernal and Flerida (Turgeon) Glynn. She was a drum majorette while in Bonesteel High School and graduated in 1966. After graduation she lived in Rapid City, South Dakota and Des Moines, Iowa.

Carol married Stanley Klug on June 19, 1971 in Gregory, South Dakota. They lived on a farm in Gregory County until 1975 when they moved to McCook, Nebraska. In 1984 they moved to Valentine, Nebraska and then to Burwell in 1992. After they came to Nebraska they were working in the livestock auction industry. Carol was a clerk for various retail businesses. In September of 2001 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Carol enjoyed knitting, playing cards and was a television buff and she loved spending time with her family; especially, the grandkids.
Carol is survived by her husband Stan Klug of Burwell, Nebraska. Two children, Arlita and Aaron Hamling of Burwell, Nebraska and Craig Klug of Ord, Nebraska and nine grandchildren, Cassie Kludt, Tawny Harvey, Bailey Hamling, Rylee Hamling, Trinity Chatfield, Macie Klug, Wyatt Klug, Thomas Hamiling and Allison Hamling. A sister Marvelyn Manke of Euless, Texas.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
