FBI invesitgating e-mail threat to Kerrey

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ The FBI is investigating an Omaha man accused of threatening Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Bob Kerrey in an email to a political action committee.

But 68-year-old Laurence McCabe tells Omaha television station KETV
that he never planned to harm anyone.

McCabe says his frustration with a televised political ad attacking Republican U.S. Senate candidate Deb Fischer led him to send the Aug. 7 email to End The Gridlock political action committee, which ran the ad.

McCabe asked in the email if he had the group's permission to ``put bullets in Democrat heads'' to end congressional gridlock and suggested Kerrey might be among those Democrats.

McCabe says the email was ``not serious,'' but the FBI has filed a criminal complaint against him. McCabe has been released on bond.
