Graveside Services for Shirley L. Scarrow will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Beaver City, Nebraska.  The service is open to all who wish to attend, and will be followed by a reception at the Hilltop Event Center / Golden Generation Center in Oxford, Nebraska from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.

Shirley Letha Scarrow, 76 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska.  Shirley was born May 13, 1941, in Stratton, Nebraska, the sixth of seven children born to George Henry and Letha Belvia (Golding) Meguire.  She received her education from Stratton Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1958.

Shirley was united in marriage to Larry Scarrow of Benkelman Nebraska, in 1958.  The couple was blessed with two sons:  Tony and Paul.  The family made their home in Oxford in 1978.  Shirley held many jobs and was skilled with many traits, but is perhaps best known for cooking skills at multiple establishments.  Shirley’s final place of employment was at the Golden Generation Center in Oxford.

Shirley was preceded in death by; her parents; husband, Larry; and five siblings and their spouses.

She leaves to celebrate her life: her two sons: Tony Scarrow of Oxford, and his children: Larry and Sara; and Paul Scarrow and his wife, Heidi of Lincoln, Nebraska, and his children: Colin and Mallory; one sister, Beverly Green of Denver, Colorado; niece, Tina; nephew, Rick; along with extended family and many friends.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial has been established in Shirley’s honor and will be designated at a later date.
