The 30th annual Sugar Valley Rally is set for this weekend with beautiful, dry weather forecast for both Saturday and Sunday.
Rally organizer Dan Dickinson says the 59 entries for the annual event is a perfect number to accommodate the event . Dickinson says the rally should move with good speed through rest stops and lunch breaks .
30 is the theme for the rally. The Saturday route that starts from the Western Nebraska Regional Airport at 8 a.m. takes the cars to Harrisburg for a pit stop and then south to Kimball and along Highway 30 to Chappell and Potter before returning to the Legacy of the Plains Museum. Sunday the participants will travel west to Lyman before ending as usual in Gering at Tom Cozad’s garage.
Friday there will be a Business After Hours at Reganis Honda where the rally cars will be parked and available for viewing after the practice run that afternoon.
