The Cuming County  Public Power District board voted 6 to nothing Tuesday morning to reject a proposed merger with the Burt County Public Power District.   The board in Burt County had just earlier voted 6 to nothing in favor of the merger.

CCPPD General Manager Chet McWhorter says he wasn’t sure how the vote would go before members went into executive session for just a few minutes and was a bit surprised at the unanimous vote.

Burt County general manager Richard Ray says they’ll be fine.  But he feels both districts would have been  better off merging.
