A class called Stepping On, which will help people learn about ways to prevent falls, will take place at Midtown Health Center in Norfolk the next seven Tuesdays. Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department Public Health Nurse Krista Snodgrass has the details. “It’s a 7 week class that helps prevent ways to prevent falls. It is a evidence based program. Each week we talk over new topics as far as ways to prevent falls in your home, in the community. Just different things that people aren’t aware of in their home.”
Snodgrass says one in four adults over the age of 65 fall each year.
There will be guest speakers. “Our guest speakers…I usually have a physical therapist that comes in, a pharmacist. Sometimes we’re able to get an Optometrist in there,” Snodgrass said.
Snodgrass says the class will be held at 2:00 p.m. each Tuesday at Midtown Health Center.
