The Fremont Walmart and Store Manager Carrie Hungerford received a Sam M. Walton Entrepreneur Award last month for their flood relief efforts in Fremont. Hungerford says they provided monetary donations and assistance.

Hungerford says 100 Associates were either displaced or couldn’t make it to work due to road closures when the flood first started.

About 20 Associates couldn’t make it home after the floods receded, according to Hungerford.

Hungerford says floods aren’t really something one can prepare for.

Hungerford says the award was a great honor for her Associates.
