Guardian Angels Central Catholic Senior Allie Knobbe was a recipient of a Believer & Achiever Award at last weekend’s Boys State Basketball Tournament in Lincoln. Knobbe says she and a fellow student were nominated to apply for the award. “Mr. French and Mrs. Stalp nominated me and another student, Hannah McGill, to apply for this scholarship, and out of all the schools in Nebraska, 48 students were chosen, and of that was me. And so I got to go down to Lincoln and receive the award.”

Knobbe was presented the award during halftime of the Class B State Championship Game between York and Omaha Skutt.

She says she’s been very active during her time at GACC. “I try really hard in school. I am 3rd out of 20. I participate in a lot of volunteer activities. I do the movie theater and help at the local food pantry. I’ve also done extra curricular activities such as one act, basketball, volleyball, and track and choir, so I’ve just put in a lot of time and effort to this community.”

Knobbe was a part of the Bluejays’ 2017 Class D-1 State Championship Basketball Team as well as this year’s State Qualifying team.

She plans to attend UNL and major in Secondary Science Education.
