Quality Pork International plans to move into the former Land ‘O Frost facility in  West Point along  with  the current Unifed Pet Products, which should bring the facility up to full capacity. QPI purchased Unifed Pet Products and the two businesses will continue to operate out of the same facility,  with each using a portion  of  it.

Tuesday night, the West Point city council approved plans to submit an application with the  Nebraska Department of Economic Development to provide $500,000 from NEDED’s Site and Building Development fund for remodeling of the building to meet their needs.

The city council also approved a conditional use permit for Deweese Sand and Gravel to put a gravel pit just outside the city limits north of Grain States Soya and south of the truck wash.  It still needs approval from the Army Corps of Engineers.
