YORK – An early morning barn fire drew three different fire departments to the blaze on the outskirts of the York city limits.
The call came in just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday to 931 South Grant or K9 Kennels. York Fire Chief Michael Lloyd says he knew immediately it wasn’t just a small fire…
The blaze was knocked down within 90 minutes, but fire crews remained on scene until 6:30 a.m. Hitz towing also provided assistance with a loader.
The Nebraska State Fire Marshall was on scene and early indications suggest it was an electrical failure.

None of the animals or residents were injured, but the barn is considered a total loss. It’s not known at this time the dollar amount of damage.
An adjacent building was slightly burned, bu the kennels will still operate business normally.
