Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) will host a health education fair at the Kearney Regional Medical Center at noon, Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
Dr. Debra Esser, BCBSNE’s vice president of medical policy and quality medical director, will discuss the power of prevention, the importance of early detection through screenings, and strategies to manage diabetes and heart disease.
“Medical research has helped people live longer, but many folks aren’t enjoying a certain quality of life with their expanded years,” Esser said. “We hope this event will increase knowledge and encourage lifestyle changes.”
Along with Dr. Esser’s presentation, a health fair will offer blood pressure screenings and educational materials, including online tools to help consumers find a doctor
