The Lexington Area Chamber of Commerce invites businesses and chamber members to participate in “Light up Lexington.” Executive Director Tina Reil-Lux says call the chamber or email her to show off.

“We want to show off this town. We want businesses to show off their decoration skills. So if you want to get your business name down for us to come by and take a look, to be in the judging and the contest, just give us a call at the office 324-5504, or you can always email me as well.”

Judges will go around on December 15th and look at all the participating members’ holiday decorations and pick a first place in business and first place residential for members. Winners will receive a “Light up Lexington” Trophy.

The Chamber is having their “Lighted Christmas Parade” in early December. Reil-Lux says entries are still being accepted.

“We’ve got a Christmas Parade coming up on December the 2nd. It’s going to be our Lighted Christmas Parade. So we’re still looking for entries. If anybody’s interested you can visit our website for the Christmas Parade entry form call me. I can even email it or anything like that.”

Reil-Lux says there are quite a few parade entries already, but the chamber wants more. Everyone has to have lights on their float.
