Construction on US-136

October 13, 2016 (McCook, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin October 17 for
placement of new asphalt on US-136 from Oxford to Orleans, according to the Nebraska Department of

Vontz Paving, Inc., from Hastings, Nebraska has the contract for the $2,964,364 project. Traffic will be
maintained using flaggers and pilot vehicles. There will be a 12 foot width restriction. This project is
anticipated to be completed by November 2016.

The Department of Roads’ project manager is Kent Kuhn of Holdrege. Motorists are asked to drive
cautiously through construction zones and expect delays.
