STROMSBURG, NEB – With an agriculture program that has only been in existence for four years, the Cross County FFA Chapter hosted their first ever Ag Safety Day & Open House this past week.

On Friday, students and the public filed in to catch a glimpse of an agriculture program that has come so far in such a short time. From a single small classroom, to housing their own facilities including: a state of the art agriculture shop, a beef/animal lab, and even a greenhouse.

Cross County FFA President, Madi Baker, said students are blessed to have this program.

Cross County FFA Vice President, Reggie Rafert, said this Ag Safety Day & Open House was a way to give back.

Ag Teacher, Amanda Hackenkamp, said the event was a learning experience.

Cross County FFA, in conjunction with the Nebraska Farm Bureau, offered ATV & equipment safety demonstrations, tours of their greenhouse & community garden and their beef & animal labs, a petting zoo, and detailed upcoming highlights in their program.
