Father wants action taken on York County intersection that claimed son’s life

Father wants action taken on York County intersection that claimed son’s life

YORK, Neb. – A two-vehicle accident east of York on the evening of March 7 claimed the lives of 19-year-old Dylan Quast, and his passenger, 17-year-old Jacob Barnett.

Jesse Barnett, Jacob’s father, was present at Tuesday morning’s York County Commissioner’s meeting to discuss the intersection of Road N and East Nobes Road, where the fatal accident occurred.

Barnett said he would like to see something done with the intersection.

The tree line is located on private property, slightly out of county right of way.

York County Highway Superintendent Harvey Kiem said much has to be done before a stop sign can be put up.

No action was taken. The commissioner’s are looking into possible solutions for the intersection.
