Sunday marked the beginning of a new era for one Scottsbluff church, as First Presbyterian Church held a ribbon cutting for their new education building.
The Rutz Education Center, located right next door to the church, will provide a spacious environment for learning, growing, and discipleship for people of all ages.
Many years ago, the First Presbyterian Church had expressed interest in purchasing this building, but the timing was not yet right. This year, through a series of perfectly-timed circumstances and generous financial gifts, First Presbyterian Church was able to purchase the building and begin transforming it into a space for education.
As the church’s Blessed Beginnings Early Childhood Center has continued to grow and thrive, the purchase of the Rutz Education Center has not only provided space for education for the church, but has also freed up space within the church to allow Blessed Beginnings to offer the best childcare possible to families in the area.
Education and discipleship are the backbone of any church. As congregations study the Bible and grow together in prayer, they are motivated and inspired to do good in the world and in their own communities. A learning church is a serving church. First Presbyterian Church is excited to see how this new space for education will continue to inspire and encourage others to reach out beyond their walls to love God and their neighbors.
