Gov. Ricketts’ Labor Day Statement

Gov. Ricketts’ Labor Day Statement
Governor Pete Ricketts
September 6th, 2021 | Office of Governor Pete Ricketts

Lincoln, Neb. — Governor Pete Ricketts issued the following statement in observance of Labor Day:

“This Labor Day marks exactly 18 months since the first case of coronavirus was confirmed in Nebraska on March 6, 2020.  Over the past year and a half, our state has powered through the pandemic by working hard and looking after one another.  Nurses, doctors, and so many other medical professionals have stepped up to provide care to Nebraskans.  Our farm and ranch families have once again showed their grit and endurance during the pandemic by raising the crops and livestock we need to feed the world.  Small businesses across the state have found creative ways to keep moving forward and serving their customers.”

“On Labor Day, we celebrate everyone working to grow Nebraska and keep our state healthy and strong.  This year, we can celebrate that the Good Life is thriving thanks to the determination of hardworking Nebraskans.”

“Susanne, the kids, and I wish everyone a restful Labor Day weekend.  If you’re traveling, buckle up and stay alert behind the wheel.  We want everyone who travels over Labor Day to make it home safely.”

On Labor Day, Governor Ricketts will participate in the SeptemberFest parade in Omaha and the Labor Day parade in Schuyler.  Additional details about the Governor’s schedule will be made available at www.governor.nebraska.gov.
