Heilbrun appointed to Nebraska Volunteer Service Commission

Lincoln, Nebraska – ServeNebraska, the Nebraska Volunteer Service Commission is proud to announce Governor Pete Rickett’s appointment of Commissioner D. Kare Heilbrun of Mitchell, Nebraska.

ServeNebraska develops and manages programs and initiatives to mobilize Nebraskans to get involved with community service and volunteering, including the state’s AmeriCorps programs. Heilbrun is currently serving as vice chair of the Community Volunteering Committee.

Appointment terms are three years and are renewable, though commissioners are limited to serving two consecutive terms. A State Farm insurance agent in Gering, Nebraska, Heilbrun lives in Mitchell, Nebraska, with her husband, Ted, and two sons
