Holbrook woman enters plea in Furnas County case

Holbrook woman enters plea in Furnas County case

A recent shoplifting investigation in Furnas County resulted in an arrest. It was reported to the Furnas County Sheriff’s Office on November 25th, 2017 from the Anew Travel Center in Cambridge. The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office investigation led to a search warrant executed on December 3rd, 2017 at a Holbrook residence. The person of interest, 57-year-old Kay Swartz, was home at the time of the service of the search warrant. Suspected methamphetamine was located inside the residence and a second search warrant was sought and obtained for illegal narcotics. The search warrant was executed and the sheriff’s office seized suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Swartz was arrested has since been found guility of Attempted Possession of a Controled Substance after pleading no contest in Furnas County Court. A charge of Theft by Shoplifting is pending and the next hearing in that case has been set for January 8, 2018.
