The Bayard man who was hospitalized in the fatal construction zone accident east of Minatare on Highway 26 Tuesday night has been transported to Swedish Medical Center in suburban Denver for treatment of his injuries.
The condition of 29-year-old Trevor Teichroeb is unknown, but a hospital employee confirms he is at the facility. State Patrol Captain Jamey Balthazor told KNEB News Teichroeb has significant but non life-threatening injuries and was taken to Regional West Medical Center initially for treatment.
The Nebraska State Patrol says 68-year-old Barbara Fritzler died in the three vehicle accident around 5 p.m. Tuesday night
The Patrol says Fritzler was in a car waiting in a line for the pilot car to return when a pickup driven by Teichroeb, a Bayard councilman and 3rd grade teacher at Roosevelt Elementary in Scottsbluff, rear-ended her vehicle. Balthazor says Fritzler’s car then struck car in front of her.
Balthazor says the Patrol will complete and thorough investigation on the accident and let the facts determine a potential cause for the accident. The report will then be forwarded to the County Attorney’s office for possible charges.
