Kimball City Administrator Daniel Ortiz confirms he is leaving the panhandle to take a similar position in Webster City, Iowa, a town of just over 8,000 in northwestern Iowa.

Ortiz told KNEB News he became interested when the opportunity was listed in a recruiting flyer after Ed Sadler left Webster City to become city manager in Sidney.  Ortiz says “what they were looking for matched with my experience and what was best for our family.”

Ortiz also indicated his wife has a Doctorate in Sociology and there will be more opportunity for her at the new location. Ortiz says the plan calls for his last day as Kimball City Administrator to be October 21st.
