A new Miss Rodeo Nebraska will take the reins next month.

Kristin Kohmetscher will be crowned Miss Rodeo Nebraska 2018 on Jan. 6 at the Nuckolls County Fairgrounds in Nelson.

The Lawrence woman won the MRN title in June after placing first in the categories of horsemanship, appearance, written test, speech and personality.

She has served as a “Lady-In-Waiting” since that time, allowing MRN 2017 Laramie Schlichtemeier to complete her reign and compete at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant. Kohmetscher will officially take over full MRN responsibilities after her coronation.

The event is open to the public. It will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. (CT) and be followed by a dinner and the coronation at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for visiting royalty and $15 for children 12 and younger. There is also a two-ticket combo available for $35. Tickets can be purchased by emailing missrodeonebraska2018@gmail.com.
