A familiar face is returning to the North Platte Valley as Mitchell’s new city administrator.

Perry Mader, former Scottsbluff Parks Director, is returning after being employed as Parks and Recreation Director in Spearfish, South Dakota.

Mader told KNEB News  “I’ve always considered Scottsbluff and western Nebraska home. I had a couple great couple years with my job in Spearfish, but there just a draw to come back here and I am really excited for this opportunity to come back. ”

Mader says he’ll have some things to learn including getting to know the city employees and their functions with the departments. But he also says there will be a lot of crossover knowledge about budgets and how all the departments coordinate with each other.

Mader says he has talked to former City Administrator Jeff Sprock, who is now up in Alliance, and plans to keep in touch in the future.

Mader’s first day on the job is November 19th.
