More talented acts have been added to the Comstock Windmill Festival lineup, June 13-15



The Comstock Windmill Festival, presented by Trotter Productions, has added to the lineup of the 2019 Festival held June 13-15, at the 2nd Wind Ranch Comstock, Nebraska.  The town of Comstock itself boasts of a population less than 70 people and will again host thousands at the annual country festival just 2 miles north of town. Over 25 CMA award winners have performed at Comstock since 2000.

Starting Thursday June 13, Phil Vassar on his HitsTERIA tour will be the headliner.  Vassar, whose songs include, Just Another Day in Paradise, Bye Bye, Little Red Rodeoand Carlene has charted well over the years.  He has also written many well-known hits for other artists.  Also taking the stage Thursday night will be Ashley McBryde.  Ashley is a new, up and comer and is noted for her songs A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega and Andy (I can’t Live with Out You.)   Her most recent Album, Girl Goin’ Nowhere, was nominated for the 2019 Grammy Award of Best Country Album. Home grown, Kearney area native, Luke Mills will kick off opening night of the festival.  He will perform Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. on the main stage.

Friday, one of the most popular Red Dirt bands, the Turnpike Troubadours, who have been selling out small venues across the country, will headline. They bring their own Red Dirt style with songs which include, Good Lord Lori, Gun, Smoke, Lies and Before the Devil Knows We’re Dead. The popular and energetic Trent Tomlinson will also take the stage on Friday night. Comstock is familiar with Trent, as he has been there several times singing such hits as One Wing in the Fire and Drunker Than Me.  Another act for Friday night will be announced soon.

Saturday night, country music star, Kip Moore will close the Windmill Main Stage for 2019.  Coming from a small town in Georgia his first number one single wasSomethin’ Bout a Truck.  Other hits include More Girls like You, Beer Money and Girls of Summer. Nebraska’s own Lucas Hoge will kick things off on Saturday. Lucas grew up in Hubbell, Nebraska and performed at Comstock 15 Years ago. Lucas’s song All about Garth has gotten good air play and his new song To Go With Whisky is being played now on the radio.

Beer tent with bands, food and craft vendors will be available. As in the past, there are no VIP tickets, continuing a Comstock tradition, where everyone is treated the same. So, pick out your spot to stand or bring your lawn chair so you will have the best seat in the draw or on the hillside. Tent and camper sites, both with electricity and without, are available.
