Citing her ranching and policy experience, the Nebraska Cattlemen announced their support for U.S. Senator Deb Fischer in her re-election bid.
“I am pleased to have the support of my good friends and neighbors, the Nebraska Cattlemen. As a family rancher for more than 40 years, I know first-hand the challenges our producers face and have worked with the Cattlemen to ease regulatory burdens and expand markets. I am grateful for the support of my peers and will continue to fight alongside them,” Fischer said.
“The Nebraska Cattlemen (NC) Board of Directors voted to continue their support of Senator Deb Fischer in the 2018 U.S. Senate primary election. Senator Fischer is a long time NC and NCBA member from Cherry County with a strong track record of advocating for Nebraska’s livestock industry,” Nebraska Cattlemen President Galen Frenzen said. “Nebraska Cattlemen greatly appreciates Senator Fischer’s efforts and is proud to support her in the 2018 primary election.”
Fischer is a member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry and is working to write the next Farm Bill. On the Senate Agriculture Committee, she chairs the Subcommittee on Livestock, Marketing, and Agriculture Security.
The Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association is a grassroots organization that advocates for and provides leadership, education, and representation for Nebraska beef producers. There are 3,700 members of Nebraska Cattlemen from across the state of Nebraska.
