One dead in single vehicle crash on I-80 near Gibbon

GIBBON – A Florida man was killed in a one vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 80 at 1:20 p.m. Thursday near Gibbon.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, a 17-year-old girl from Lansing, Michigan and two Florida residents were westbound in a 2002 Ford SUV before losing control of the vehicle and rolling it into the median.

A front seat passenger, 62-year-old Stephen Clark from Punta Gorda, Florida was pronounced dead at the scene. The other passenger, 61-year-old Kathleen Clark and the 17-year-old driver were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney with unknown injuries. Seatbelts were in use by all three. The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
