OSHA investigating auger accident

A CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital spokeswoman in Kearney says a Dannebrog man who was being cared for at the facility has been “treated and transferred.” 59 year old Dwight Bowers received injuries to his leg after being caught Thursday in a sweep auger at Trotter Grain in Litchfield. The spokeswoman said she could not provide KRVN News with information on where the individual was transferred to.  Bowers was first transported to CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney where he was initially listed in serious condition. Litchfield and Ravenna rescue crews were called to the scene.  An investigator indicated to the Kearney Hub that OSHA is investigating whether the equipment Bowers was working with was properly guarded.
