LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ A Nebraska Republican Party fundraiser that was to feature GOP vice presidential candidate Mike Pence has been canceled. Bud Synhorst, the state party’s executive director, says Pence had been scheduled to appear at a campaign rally in Omaha on Tuesday. Republican National Committeeman J.L. Spray says Pence’s visit was originally planned as a state party fundraiser and the public campaign rally was added later. GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump drew widespread criticism from Nebraska party leaders last week when a recording surfaced of him making lewd comments about women. Gov. Pete Ricketts, who plays a key role in raising money for the party, has said the comments were reprehensible, offensive and dangerous.
