A 27-year-old Rapid City man is being detained on a $285,000 bond in Scotts Bluff County after leading authorities on a high speed pursuit Wednesday morning.
Reynold Richards was arrested this week on charges of Flight to Avoid Arrest, Possession of a Methamphetamine, Fictitious Plates, Driving Under Suspension and Speeding.
Court documents say that a NSP Trooper was westbound on Highway 88, when a white vehicle approached him from behind at a high rate of speed. Once the vehicle passed, the trooper turned on his lights and tried to initiate a traffic stop.
The driver of the vehicle- Reynold Richards- didn’t stop, and tried to evade the trooper by turning up several county roads and cutting through fields at speeds in excess of 85 miles per hour. Richards eventually stopped on County Road 40 and was taken into custody.
