Despite the call for cooler temperatures and rain Saturday, the 3rd Annual Robidoux Quick and Dirty bicycle race will still be taking place.
The route is run primarily on gravel roads. It’s a hilly course with over 4,000 feet of climbing in 75 miles.
The course is 88% gravel and 12% asphalt, with the final 5 miles climbing up over Mitchell Pass and through the Scotts Bluff National Monument.
Organizer Matt Hutt says he is hoping for at least half of the 76 registered racers to brave the cool and wet conditions to participate.
The 75 mile gravel race runs through the heart of the Wildcat Hills. There is also a 28 mile recreational ride that will leave at the same time as the racers.
The location for the Friday night meet and greet event has been changed. Hutt says it was scheduled to be held at the Five Rocks Amphitheater, but after careful discussions, they have moved it to the Weborg 21 Centre at 2625 10th Street from 4 to 7 p.m.
