Friends and family are in mourning following the death of a Bridgeport man in a tragic farm accident Thursday.
Authorities in Morrill County say Riley Schneider died after he was accidentally electrocuted while setting up an electric cattle fence on property south of Angora Hill shortly after 2:15 p.m.
Sheriff Milo Cardenas tells KNEB News Schneider was riding on a trailer behind a pickup as fence wire was being unreeled from a spool, when the wire broke and tension caused it to rebound into an overhead power line.
Cardenas says the 44-year-old was transported to Morrill County Hospital, where efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Services are pending for Schneider, who is survived by his wife and three children.
