The Saddle Rock Trail at Scotts Bluff National Monument is officially re-opened for public use as of 10 a.m. Friday.

A portion of the trail was closed following heavy rains over Memorial Day Weekend, causing areas of rock slides in the middle section.

Park Superintendent Dan Morford says he walked the trail personally this morning, and deemed it safe for the public to use once again. Earlier this week, he told KNEB News that public safety is priority number one- and wanted to ensure that there was no movement or activity along the trail that could cause injury.
