Scottsbluff Fire Chief Dana Miller retires

Scottsbluff City Manager Nathan Johnson says that he has accepted notice of retirement from longtime Fire Chief Dana Miller, effective immediately.

In a prepared release, Johnson said, “The City of Scottsbluff appreciates Dana’s commitment, dedication and leadership for 30+ years in the Fire Department. On behalf of the City of Scottsbluff, we thank Dana for his years of dedicated service and wish him nothing but the best in retirement.”

Miller, who has served as fire chief since 1999, was placed on paid administrative leave on November 29th. City officials would not comment on the matter, citing personnel matters.

Johnson says that Scottsbluff Police Chief Kevin Spencer has been named interim fire chief until a permanent replacement can be found.
