A Scottsbluff man is facing a slew of charges following Saturday night incident.
Around 7:20 p.m. Scottsbluff police were dispatched to a disturbance 701 E. 8th Street. Investigation found that a resident there had been attacked by his son with a pair of scissors, a frying pan and possibly a fork.
The victim sustained some injuries to his head and arms before the suspect fled the home when the Police were called. The victim refused ambulance transport but did seek treatment for the injuries sustained.
A short time later in the night an Officer located the suspect from this altercation, 34-year-old Fernando Villarreal of Scottsbluff, walking in the area of 9th Avenue and East Overland. He appeared to be under the influence, was very agitated and was argumentative with Officers.
He was taken into custody for 2nd degree assault and transported to the Jail for booking. On arrival there, as he was stepping out of the rear of the patrol vehicle, Police say Villarreal spit in the face of the arresting Officer. This resulted in an additional charge of Assault with body fluids against a public safety Officer.
