A second person wanted in connection with a Gothenburg shooting incident on September 5, 2016 has been arrested. Thirty-year-old Keith Jenkins of Cozad was arrested by the Cozad Police Department on Wednesday September 28-, 2016 on a Dawson County warrant for Burglary. Jenkins was arraigned in Dawson County Court Thursday. His bond was set at 10% of $50,000 and his next court appearance set for 9:30am on October 6, 2016. Jenkins is suspected of accompanying another man to a Gothenburg residence where a shooting occurred. No one was injured from the shooting.
A Gothenburg man reported to Gothenburg Police that he and a friend were sitting in the living room of his residence around 11:00pm on September 5th when a subject wearing a skeleton mask and carrying a black bag, entered the room. According to the police report, the subject pointed a handgun at the man’s face. The man knocked the gun away but, the subject pointed the gun at him again. The man knocked the gun away again and the gun fired. After a struggle the subject, believed to be 21-year-old Levi McAlevy ran out the door. Jenkins is suspected of accompanying 21-year-old Levi McAlevy to the residence and stepping inside the doorway during the incident. McAlevy faces 6 felony charges in the case and is being held on 10% of $500,000 bond.
