The Kearney Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at Baldwin Filters. Upon arrival, KVFD members found light smoke coming from the top of the manufacturing plant. Firefighters accessed the roof of the plant, and found heavy fire conditions in a small metal structure, approximately 12′ X 30′, that was located on the roof of the plant. Firefighters made entry and extinguished the fire. The fire was contained inside of that structure. All contents and equipment that was inside the structure was a total loss. The estimated dollar loss from the damage is unknown at this time. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office. There were no injuries reported.
