Storm to produce on and off thunderstorms this weekend

Storm to produce on and off thunderstorms this weekend

A Mother’s Day weekend storm that is passing through western Nebraska and southeast Wyoming will likely not produce the consistent rain the region experienced a couple weeks ago.

KNEB meteorologist Don Day says it appears the storm will stall to the west of us, which will likely reduce the precipitation the region will receive.

Day said, “Since the storm is stalling, we are not going to be under the counter clockwise spin that we had with the other storm. However, it will be a moist and unstable  environment, but it will be more of an on and off opportunity for thunderstorms, especially  in the Friday evening to Saturday morning and Saturday evening to Sunday morning time frames.

Day says temperatures may be a tad warmer this weekend than originally forecast, while adding parts of the storm will linger, producing better chances of afternoon showers and thunderstorm early next week.
