KNEB news has been able to confirm there have been 15 additional layoffs at SWBC’s Scottsbluff facility today.
Assistant Vice President of Public Relations and Corporate Communications Lisa Pinto says the people impacted are all in one division. She notes the action was a result of reduced volume, and was not associated with the previous employee reductions this year.
Pinto said the corporation is opening a collection division in Scottsbluff next month, where there will be 20 new hires and those laid off today will have until October 10th to decide whether they would like to take one of those positions. If the employees decide not take one of the new openings, their final day will be October 14th.
This marks the fourth round of layoffs this year, with 35 jobs cut in May, 20 in July, and 30 in August.
