Traffic stop of two vehicles in Dawson County resulted in 3 arrests and drug seizures

Traffic stop of two vehicles in Dawson County resulted in 3 arrests and drug seizures

Two vehicles stopped for stop sign violations on Tuesday December 18th resulted in drug seizures and three arrests according to the Dawson County Sheriff’s office. According to Lt. Tucker Case, it occurred around 11:45am that day southwest of Lexington along Darr Road. A probable-cause search of an Oregon-plated SUV turned up 32 plastic bags of suspected Marijuana in a speaker box in the back of the vehicle. A search of another SUV that was pulled over turned up two vape pens and two THC cartridges. In the end a total of 34 pounds of Marijuana, nearly 1.3 pounds of THC and a little more than $3,300 in currency was seized.

The occupants of the SUV, 24-year-old Zachary Johnson and 26-year-old Stephanie Crouch both of Medford, Oregon were charged in Dawson County Court with two counts each of Distribution of the Controlled Substance. Their bonds were set at 10% of $50,000 and their next court hearings set for January 3rd at 11:15am.

The driver of the second SUV, 34-year-old Joseph Zwarton of Chana, IL was charged in Dawson County Court with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving Under Suspension and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bond was set at 10% of $10,000 and his next court hearing set for January 3rd at 11:15am.
