One of the leaders at Nebraska State Patrol Troop E will be heading east to accept a promotion.
Lieutenant Marty Denton will be replacing Captain Lynn Williams, whose retirement from Troop D Headquarters in North Platte was announced on Monday. Captain Williams served for the NSP for 33 years.
Denton started with the State Patrol 20 years ago as a trooper in Kimball, and then moved to Holdrege to become a Sergeant.
In 2014, Denton moved back to the Panhandle to become Field Services Lieutenant at Troop E Headquarters in Scottsbluff.
He says he’s excited for the opportunity- but says the last few years has certainly held some highlights.
“The relationship you have with your public, your media partners, the Department of Roads and your allied agencies. We’re a big state but we’re a small community,” explains Denton. “And when you’re a small community it requires those partnerships and that’s been very rewarding for the last 20 years of my career and I expect that to continue.”
Earlier this year, Troop E lost Captain Mike Gaudreault, who accepted the position of Field Services Major at State Headquarters in Lincoln. Lt. Jamey Balthazor was promoted to Captain for Troop E and Sgt. Kevin Krzyzanowski was promoted to replace Balthazor at the lieutenant position.
