Experts will gather Friday, Oct. 14 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center-Omaha for a Nebraska Opioid Summit. It will take place in the Health Science Education facility from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Hosts for the summit will be Dr. Jeffrey Gold, Chancellor of UNMC; Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson; Governor Pete Ricketts and U-S Attorney Deb Gilg.
The summit is entitled: “Charting the Road to Recovery: Nebraska’s Response to Opioid Abuse.” The summit will focus on prevention, treatment, and law enforcement through direct collaboration with the public health, medical, and law enforcement communities in Nebraska.
Speakers will include: Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel, Director of the Midwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, Jeffrey Stamm and the Surgeon General and Secretary of Health for the State of Florida, John Armstrong.
