Vehicle sought in Kearney pursuit Tuesday morning

Vehicle sought in Kearney pursuit Tuesday morning

Buffalo County area l;aw enforcement agencies engaged in a brief pursuit Tuesday morning after attempting to stop a vehicle that fled a traffic incident at a Kearney convenience store around 8:00am. According to the Kearney Police Department, a silver Volkswagen Passat Station Wagon was seen with a gas fuel pump nozzle hanging from it, when attempts were made to stop it the vehicle fled. Kearney Police terminated their pursuit south of town due to speeds and traffic congestion.

The pursuit was then continued by both the Kearney County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol, but was terminated by them as well. The vehicle has Oregon license plates,652CDB, along with a luggage rack with a tarp over it. The driver of the vehicle is described as a white male, age unknown, with dark hair with gray on the sides with a ponytail. Anyone who observes this vehicle and/or subject is asked to call the closest law enforcement agency as soon as possible.
