Western Nebraska Community College is one of four panhandle employers receiving one of the Governor’s Wellness awards this fall.

The award recognizes employers who dedicate leadership, resources, and time to wellness efforts in the workplace. WNCC President Dr. Todd Holcomb says the college is excited about getting the Grower Award, which recognizes employers who demonstrate significant investment in programs that contribute to better employee health behaviors.

Dr. Holcomb says the college emphasized diabetic, blood panel and weight loss screening plus mental health awareness. Other Panhandle Employers who will be presented with Governor’s Wellness Awards are Cabelas, Banner County Schools, and the Panhandle Public Health District.
