A 43-year-old Colorado woman is being held on a $25,000 bond at the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center for reportedly stealing a car Sunday morning.
Court records say a Scottsbluff couple had been warming up their car outside their 4th Street home, and when they went back outside ten minutes later it was gone.
A stop and hold was placed on the vehicle, and was later located at the Options in Psychology parking lot on Avenue C. Officers made contact with Terri Sue Martin, who told police her vehicle had run out of gas. She noticed the car running, stated she was cold and homeless, and took the vehicle.
The car was returned undamaged and with no contents missing, and the owners requested charges to be filed against Martin.
Documents say Martin was arrested for Motor Vehicle Theft and was transported to the Scotts Bluff County Jail where she was booked in and lodged.
Martin is scheduled to make her first appearance on the charge today in Scotts Bluff County Court.
