A woman who pulled a baggie of suspected marijuana from her front private area during a traffic stop is in the Scotts Bluff County jail.
19 year old Mireya Garcia was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by a Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s deputy in the Bellevue addition after a report of a suspicious parked car. Court documents say the Deputy smelled an odor of burnt marijuana, requested the K-9 unit and began searching the vehicle and requested searches of the driver and Garcia.
The documents say Garcia voluntarily showed her pockets contained nothing. But when she was a told a female officer from the Nebraska State Patrol was coming to do a pat search, she reached into the front of her pants and produced the baggie of marijuana. Officers also recovered a knife with a 5″ blade strapped to her leg that Garcia said she used “for protection”.
Garcia is charged with possession of marijuana less than ounce, carrying a concealed weapon and obstructing an officer.
