The Nebraska State Patrol was called to an SUV-train collision in Sherman county Saturday at 7:01 a.m. that caused injuries to a woman. The mishap occurred at mile marker 314 at a location along Highway 2 that does not have a railroad crossing. The vehicle left the road, traveled through the north-ditch and hit the train on the side of one of the boxcars. The woman was identified as 22 year old Jonaya McAlevy of Broken Bow. The woman was taken to CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney and is in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The woman was wearing her seat belt, driving a beige, 2005 Jeep Cherokee. Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
