Work to Begin on I-80 Westbound, Kearney to Odessa

October 5, 2016 (Grand Island, Neb.) — Weather permitting, beginning October 11, single lane closures will be erected in the westbound lanes of I-80, from Kearney to Odessa, for joint crack sealing work, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.

Scodeller Construction, Inc., of Wixom, Michigan, has the contract for the $233,500 project, which includes removing the existing joint sealant and replacing with new sealant. Work will also include cleaning and sealing random cracks. Temporary lane closures will be erected in the morning and removed in the evening.

Motorists can expect some delays, with construction equipment working in close proximity to the open lane. Work is anticipated to be completed in November.

The Department of Roads’ project manager is Tom Farber of Kearney. Motorists are asked to drive cautiously through the construction work zone.
