The Oregon Trail Community Foundation’s WyoBraska Gives 24 hour fundraising effort has begun and the initial response has been overwhelming.
By mid-morning over $100,000 had been raised for the over 100 non-profits taking part on the WyoBraskaGives.org website.
Co-Chair Becky Horne says it is easy to donate to one or multiple organizations.
Horne said, “Just like shopping on Amazon, you can click through any of the non-profits, you can search by a key word or just through their name. Once you get to their non-profit profile, you simply click on the donate now button. there are a few simple instructions including asking you whether you are a first time donor or want to donate in memory of someone. ”
Horne and the other Co-Chair Cathy McDaniel are encouraging people who donate to challenge others through social media . It is a day designed for those who don’t normally give to provide whatever they can to their favorite charity or charities .
Horne says you can also donate through a silent auction listed on the home page.
Horne says the goal is to raise $200,000 by the end of the day.
