On Thursday night just prior to the 12 and under softball game in Lyons, the BRLD 12s team received tokens of support from their opponents, the West Point team. The BRLD coach, Megan Cameron, was killed last week as a result of a domestic incident, which led to an alleged murder-suicide. A celebration of life was held earlier in the day Thursday at Lyons Decatur Northeast School in Lyons. Cameron was the coach of the BRLD 12 and under softball team. Her daughter, Sydney, pitches for the team. Each West Point player presented a purple hair band with a “#7” printed on it to each player of the BRLD team. Sydney’s uniform number is 7, and purple is the color for prevention of domestic violence. Also, all the team members from WP and BRLD 10s and 12s wore purple ribbons in their hair.
