FRIEND – The Exeter-Milligan-Friend Bobcats are on their way to the NSAA Class D1 quarterfinals for the first time in three years. In Friend, the 2-seed Bobcats used 32 first half points to take down the 7-seed Fullerton Warriors 40-28 on Wednesday. EMF is now 9-0 on the season.

Senior back Mitchell Manning had two scores on the ground tonight, and senior quarterback Spencer Pribyl threw one touchdown and ran for one. Senior running back Edwen Baptista owned the bulk of the carries in the game with well-over 30. He had one touchdown early in the second quarter. On defense, senior linebacker Cole Bossaller had one interception.
Fullerton had the football first and scored early after a three-yard run by junior running back John Wetovick to take an 8-0 lead. Exeter Milligan immediately scored on their next offensive play, as Manning went 65 yards from scrimmage. With the two point conversion successful, the score was tied at 8-8.
EMF took the lead 16-14 after the touchdown run by Pribyl, and never looked back. They jolted to a 32-20 halftime lead after Pribyl found Bossaller in the back of the endzone for the score with three seconds left in the first half.
Fullerton held EMF to just one touchdown in the second half. The third quarter went scoreless for both teams. In the fourth, Manning’s scored second touchdown rush of the game.
The Bobcats defense continued to get stop after stop late in the game, helping the offense which couldn’t score points down the stretch.
With the win for EMF, they move on to play 3-seed Guardian Angels Central Catholic next Tuesday Nov. 6, in Milligan. The game can be heard on KOOL 103.5FM and 1370AM.
